Congratulations, American friends, with Shani Davis' speed skating gold medal on the 1.000 meters! Most of you are probably not interested in speed skating at all but since it's our national sport and the only sport we compete in these Olympics I feel a bit sore...

He beat our national hope Wennemars who won the bronze.

Husband has a meeting in Chicago May 21 - 24 and asked me to join him. Since we are very lucky to have friends who love to stay in our house and take care of girls/cats/birds/fish/wine cellar I will be delighted to do so. Now all I have to do is try to avoid the 'ladies program' they always have during those kind of meetings. Ha! As if I wouldn't be capable of entertaining myself! Sooooooo..... any suggestions for good restaurants, museum/galleries, shopping mall or other things I shouldn't miss?

Just came back from daughters' birthday party, we saw 'Nanny McPhee' and the girls (11 & 12 yrs old) loved it. Colin was excellent,
especially in the wedding scene, but the hall beside ours showed GOF so I couldn't resist sneaking in and watching the Yull Ball scene..
My daughter only rolled her eyes...

Difficult choice but, yeah, I definitively still prefer Yull Ball Dan above wedding scene Colin...

I've been tagged by the lovely abigail89 so....

My 5 Weird Habits/Facts:

1. My thoughts are in English. Seriously. Can't help it.

2. I do everything at the last moment. It drives my girls and husband crazy, but I cannot help it. I'm more creative and productive when I do things at the very last minute.

3. I could have been a KLM stewardess. I declined because I'd just met my boyfriend at that time and wanted to spend as much time ~~having sex~~ with him as possible.

4. I MUST read my morning paper alone. With a coffee. NO KIDS OR HUSBAND! Therefore, I always make sure I'm up half an hour earlier than my family. Even on Saturdays and Sundays.

5. I have a great memory for movies and songs. I have a great memory for every unimportant detail. I always win with Trivial Pursuit. OTOH, I have a lousy memory when it comes to things I must remember. I cannot shop without a shopping list.

Which color does Dan's toothbrush have?

Yesterday there was an interview on Dutch TV where children could ask all sorts of questions to the Trio.

Questions include: Did Dan and Emma have a relationship? (Most asked question!!!)
How does it feel to go into puberty?
What's color does your toothbrush have?
What is the rumor you want have spread about you? (Note: tall and Scarlett Johansson!)
Did kids ever bully you because of the color of your hair?

I think my toothbrush is similar to Dan's... It's an Oral B!!!!!!!!! :D

I really, really, really didn't want to but couldn't resist.

I watched 8 out of the 13 GOF clips that surfaced on the net, including Ron and Harry's Fight, Tradition to Dance and Preparing for the Second Task.

..... and this movie is going to kill me and cost me my marriage. And will be my all time favorite from now on. sorry, Shawshank Redemption!

I know most of you don't watch the clip but OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! 'She's beautiful!' 'Yes, she is' Harry! simply kills me! HARRY'S LOOK!!!!!

This is definitively a movie I must see alone. No husband. No children. Just me.

It's my daughter's birthday. Dani is 8 today.

She was 14 days late, weighted 10 pounds, I needed four bags of blood after she was born and I cannot remember the first 3 hours after her birth but she was beautiful. And still is (yes I know, every mother says that...)

This morning I read about a 16-year-old Dutch boy who wrote his own Harry Potter book, 'Harry Potter and the Torch with the Green Flames'. JKR and her publisher were 'not amused' but it looks like it's going to be a big hit here in Holland. At the moment I'm busy printing all 213 pages and can't wait to start reading! It seems he has written this story while waiting for book 6 to come out. Check out here for the cover.

Husband told me to make arrangements for the children for the night of November 18th. Yes....November 18th. That also
happens to be my 40th birthday (probably less important than THE other event) so I guess he booked a hotel room for that
night. Which means we'll probably have lots of sex that night and I won't be able to see anything at all from the premiere.
Nothing. Zip.

Am I a very bad girl if I'll prefer TV above diner/sex that night???

Everything is arranged! Hubby surprised me by telling me we will be going away for a week mid September. Just the two of us! Well, not exactly just us but with two of hubby's business partners who happens to be my sister-in-law with husband and two very dear friends.
And.... where are we going? Or, what are we going to do?

We are going to sail!Both friends are excellent sailer's so I don't have to worry (and don't have to do a thing!) A week in the Greek waters! Sailing from island to island, sun-bathing on deck, eating Suvlaki and drinking Rake in small villages with only one or two tavernas!!!!! Have sex on the beach!!!! Whoohoo!!!

OMG, I only hope I won't get seasick......

.....How I saved a sheep's life.....

YES, I'm a hero! *coughs*

An hour ago I was on my way to pick up the children from school. The cycle-track leads through pastures and a lady came up to me and told me there was a sheep lying on his back and couldn't get back on his legs. The sheep was in a pasture, separated by a (narrow) ditch. She asked me if I knew who the owner was so she could warn him but I really had no idea. So when she was informing around I cycled to the sheep and tried to figure out how I could help. There was only one way to get to the sheep and that meant I had to jump over the ditch. I THOUGHT it was narrow... Alas. Not narrow enough for me (or my athletic capacities are very poor) so I ended up in the ditch. *headdesk*
Luckily, the sheep was still alive and I managed to push the animal over so it could get back on it's legs. You really don't want to know what I looked like when I finally arrived at school......! But hey, the sheep lives and first thing it did was pee...........
